Jacksonville is the most populous city in the state of Florida. The city is located on both the Atlantic Ocean and a major riverway which has greatly helped the city’s economy. Home to four Fortune 500 companies, three Naval bases, and a variety of transportation, financial, logistical, biomedical, and manufacturing companies Jacksonville boasts a well balanced economy. Perhaps most surprising is the fact that even with such a diverse economy and a large population the city is only home to one professional sports team, the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, and isn’t currently well known for it’s nightlife, arts, music, or culture (though the city was the home of classic rock icons Lynard Skynard).
